November 28, 2006 National Influenza Vaccination Week Friday the Mizell Senior Center will hold a flu shot clinic for National Influenza Vaccination Week. The goal of the week, sponsored by the Center for Disease Control, is to create awareness that the flu season begins in February and December or even January are perfect times for flu shots. The clinic will be held from 9am - noon. The cost of the shot is only $25.00 and the proceeds benefit the programs and services of the Mizell Senior Center. November 20, 2006 Flu Shot Fridays at Mizell If you missed your chance to get your shot November 17, the Center will provide you with a second chance every Friday during the month of December. Fridays form 9 - noon you can get your shot for only $25.00. Supply is limited to what is on hand.
November 17, 2006 Flu Shot Clinic Complete The Mizell Senior Center has completed the annual Flu Shot Clinic and we would like to thank all the vendors in the Senior Living Expo who made the event such a hit. We would also like to thank the volunteers who help is so important! Thanks to you, almost 500 flu shots were provided to the community.
October 25, 2007 The first shipment of Flu Vaccine has arrived!!! This means that we are now on schedule for the Flu Clinic and Senior Living Expo to be held on November 17, 2006 October 6, 2006 The Mizell Senior Center has announced that the Flu Shot Clinic and Senior Living Expo will be rescheduled. Due to a nation-wide distribution delay, the Flu Shot Clinic originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 10, will now be held Friday, November 17 from 10:00pm – 7:00pm. The clinic will be held at the Mizell Senior Center, 480 S Sunrise Way in Palm Springs. The Senior Living Expo will feature nearly 50 vendors highlighting newest products and information to get the most enjoyment from the Senior years. The flu shots, which are available to the public, will cost $25.00 and Mizell Senior Center members can make appointments for their vaccination in advance at the Center. October 2, 2006 Flu Shots will be given at the Mizell Senior Center this year. This year's event will offer some new activities... First, the time of the Flu Clinic will be extended to enable those who are working to visit the Clinic also. The clinic will be open from 10:00 - 7:00pm. Price of the flu shot will remain the same as last year.. $25.00. No need to stop for lunch before your shot, the Mizell Senior Center will host a bbq through out the day. $3.00 for a Hamburger lunch with BBQ beans and a drink. A great deal. No standing in line. Everyone who comes to the Clinic will be given an appointment time. Just come to the flu shot room at your scheduled time and never have to wait in line. Come early and enjoy the Senior Living Expo. See over 40 vendors from the community as they show off their products and services.
September 30, 2006 The Annual Senior Living Expo and Flu Shot Clinic will be held this year in a new location. The event will no longer be held at the Palm Springs Mall, as it has been for the past 16 years. This year, the event will be held October 10 at the Mizell Senior Center. Over 40 vendors will be on hand to demonstrate new products and technology as it applies to Senior health.
